• Facts of note: One of the Original Georgia Peaches, the Belle Of Georgia has been a favorite almost since its discovery in Georgia around 1870. Along with the the Elberta, the Belle of Georgia have become renowned as the Original Georgia Peaches. The Belle of Georgia is a large fruit with a firm white flesh, with a red tint. This fruits fine flavor has delighted home gardener for over 130 years. Vigorous grower, it is known for its reliable production where other peach varieties struggle. Very bud hardy and disease resistant. Its wonderful flavor is enjoyed straight off the tree or for cooking and canning. Like the Elberta, the Belle Of Georgia is a seedling of the Chinese Cling peach both coming from seed given to two of Colonel Lewis Rumph nephews that would become two of the most important fruit varieties in US history.
