Shipping Policy
At Fresh Garden Living, we want every order to arrive healthy, on time, and ready to grow. Here’s what to expect.
Live Plants & Bulbs
About half of our plants ship from our family nursery in Summerville, Oregon. The other half ship from licensed partner nurseries in other states. Both are Fresh Garden Living orders, and we stand behind them either way.
If a plant does not arrive in good condition, please reach out. Our Live Arrival & Thrive Guarantee explains how we make that right.
Décor & Other Items
Décor and items that ship from the manufacturer follow that company’s shipping schedule. Those rates appear in your cart at checkout.
Free Shipping on this Product!
You will see this on many of our potted roses and landscape trees. If it is on the page, there is no shipping charge for that plant.
Shipping calculated at checkout
If you see this and do not see a free-shipping note, that item may have a shipping fee. Some plants from partner nurseries do. The rate depends on the grower, plant size, and your address. You will see the amount in your cart before you pay. No charges are added after the order is placed.
THIS ITEM SHIPS IN THE FALL
Peonies and many spring bulbs include this note. You are welcome to order now — the plant will ship when it is the right time to plant, not the day the order is placed.
Pre-order and Shipping: Starts …
If an item is marked Pre-order and shows a start date (for example, February 7, 2027), it will ship when that date arrives. The plant is not late — it has not started its trip yet. Pre-orders can still include free shipping.
If you are not sure which note applies, send us the product link and we will check it with you.
Seasonal Shipping Schedule
The following products ship on a seasonal schedule. Orders placed before the ship date are held and released at the right time for planting.
- Tulip bulbs and spring-flowering bulbs: begin shipping mid-to-late September
- Amaryllis: begin shipping mid-to-late October
- Blueberry plants (pre-order): begin shipping mid-October
- Roses (pre-order): begin shipping mid-February 2027
- Onion sets (pre-order): begin shipping end of September
If you have questions about a specific ship date, chat with us or email Karyn@freshgardenliving.com.
Who Ships the Box
From our nursery
Plants packed at our Oregon farm ship via USPS Ground Advantage or UPS Ground.
From a partner nursery
Partner farms pack at their location and may use USPS, UPS, or FedEx. One order can arrive in two boxes with two tracking numbers.
Décor and manufacturer-shipped items follow that company’s shipping. Rates appear in your cart.
Processing & Delivery Times
When an item is in season and ready to ship:
- Orders are processed and shipped within 1–3 business days, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays).
- Orders placed on a weekend or holiday are processed the next business day.
- After the box ships, delivery is usually 3–7 business days, depending on your location.
A specific calendar date cannot be guaranteed. Carriers and weather can add time.
Pre-orders and fall-ship items begin shipping on their release date, timed to the right planting window for your zone.
You will receive a tracking email when your box ships. Split orders may include more than one tracking number.
Multiple Boxes in One Order
A tree that is ready now and a peony that ships in fall will not travel together. A plant from Oregon and a plant from a partner nursery will not share a carton. If you ordered several items at once, please allow each box its own timeline.
Where We Ship
We ship within the United States only.
Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories are often available. Delivery takes longer, and any extra rate will show at checkout.
Gifts
You can ship to a different address than the one on your payment. Please enter the recipient’s street address at checkout.
To include a short note, email Karyn@freshgardenliving.com with your order number and the message.
When Your Box Arrives
Please open it the same day if you can.
Remove the plant from packaging, water it, and give it a shaded spot for a day or two before full sun or planting. Roses and trees can arrive with few leaves in fall and winter and still be healthy — check the canes and roots, not just the foliage.
If a plant arrives damaged or you are concerned it did not make the trip, take a photo in the box and email us with your order number within 24 hours so we can arrange a replacement if needed.
Common Questions
Will this ship from Oregon?
About half of our plants do. The rest ship from a partner nursery in another state. Either way, you are ordering from Fresh Garden Living and we are here if you need help.
Why is there a shipping charge on one plant and not another?
Please check each product page. Free shipping is noted on the listing when it applies. If that note is not there, the fee is calculated at checkout.
I ordered a peony in August. Why has it not shipped?
If the page says it ships in the fall, it is waiting for planting season. The same applies to a pre-order rose with a February ship date. If you need to adjust timing, email us your dates and we will see what is possible.
Can it arrive before the weekend?
Please ask before ordering. Pre-order and fall-ship items cannot be moved up. Even in-stock plants need 1–3 business days to process, plus transit time. We will give you an honest answer on timing.
Can I change the shipping address?
Email Karyn@freshgardenliving.com with your order number as soon as possible. Once the carrier has the box, we may not be able to redirect it.
