Soil & Water

Tomatoes thrive in fertile soil rich in organic matter. Add plenty of compost before planting. Preferred soil pH is between 5.5 and 7.0. Soak the soil 4–6 inches deep at 7-day intervals. For the best results, consider using organic tomato fertilizer to enrich your soil and support vigorous plant growth.

Planting & Growing

Sow seeds indoors in flats 6–8 weeks before the last frost. Thin to 2 inches apart after the first true leaves appear. Before transplanting outdoors, harden off the seedlings by gradually exposing them to sunlight over several days.

Harvesting & Storage

Harvest when individual fruits give slightly under finger pressure; the shoulders may not fully change color. Due to their thin skins, these tomatoes may crack if left to fully ripen on the vine—it's best to pick them early.
